Do You Have The Faith?
The Faith Walk
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. (Proverbs 3:5)
Have you ever played a game blindfolded? It's not easy, especially when you've been turned in circles several times then told to find an object. Before being blindfolded, the player is shown where the object is in the room. But after being spun around blindfolded, how can one possibly find that object he's now looking for?
Compare this game to trying to figure out where God is. You can't see Him. So how can you find Him? The map to finding God and His Son, Jesus, is the Bible. Read it and you'll find directions to God.
Faith is simply trusting in God. Faith is sometimes believing in what a godly parent, teacher, or church leader has explained to you about God. But at some point in your life, you must accept Jesus and have true faith, or trust, in Jesus all on your own.
Try playing the blindfold game now with a friend yelling out loud where to go after being spun around blindfolded. After your head quits spinning about, walk slowly in the direction your trusted friend is telling you to go. This is what a faith walk is all about-listening, following directions, and walking in faith (trust), believing.
After you have found Jesus, the rest of your life is a faith walk. Sometimes trying to follow God may feel a lot like being spun in a room while blindfolded. But wait for the room to stop spinning. Listen to His still, small voice, and He will tell you, "I am here!"
Walk toward Jesus; He will direct you. Listen to where He wants you to go; He will tell you. Do what Jesus wants you to do in life; He will lead you. Live your life to the fullest for God; He will show you how.
