Kids Become "Homeless" for BGMC

Here's an event the kids of Industry Assembly in Industry, Illinois, did for BGMC:

Six kids from Industry AG became "homeless" for three days and two nights, sleeping in boxes on the grass in the parking lot of Wal-Mart. Our kids did this event together with the youth (their Speed the Light fund-raiser). Together they raised $1,000!

They had to find ways to get food or find places or people to donate food (the church only provided them water). One man bought them all dinner from Subway. A restaurant next to where they were "living" gave the kids all of their leftover food at the end of the night. It was pretty eye-opening for these kids and youth to find themselves "happy" about getting food that was headed toward the dumpster.

The majority of the money was raised by the kids standing on the side of the parking lot with buckets and collecting money from cars driving by.
