Kid Power

Rolling Around for BGMC

One June day, the kids at Capital Assembly of God in Hamilton, New Jersey, found a new way to raise money for BGMC: a Roll-a-thon. The kids have been doing this for a few years now and love doing it.

Starting at exactly 10:40 a.m., the kids began rolling around the church building on their wheels of choice. Most chose bikes, but some were on roller skates or scooters. In the weeks prior to the event, the kids got pledges for these rolls.

The event lasted one hour. It got pretty warm, but they had safety tables set up with cold water, pretzels, and band-aids if needed. As the kids got to rolling, their BGMC leader counted down the hour. When the event was finished, the kids had hot dogs for lunch in the fellowship hall.

On the following week, the kids were each recognized for their hard work. During the recent Roll-a-thon, these kids raised a total of $1,000. Now that's kid power!
