Where BGMC Goes: USA

Our Home Missions Field: The Assemblies of God United States Missions field consists of the 50 states and Puerto Rico.

USA Population: 308 Million

USA's Age Structure:

  • 20.1% are ages 0-14
  • 67.1% are ages 15-64
  • 12.7% are ages 65 or older

Our Average Life Expectancy: 78 years

Religions Practiced in USA

  • Protestant: 51.3% of population
  • Roman Catholic: 23.9% of population
  • Mormon: 1.7% of population
  • Other Christian: 1.6% of population
  • Jewish: 1.7% of population
  • Buddhist: 0.7% of population
  • Muslim: 0.6% of population
  • Unspecified: 2.5% of population
  • Unaffiliated: 12.1% of population
  • No religion claimed: 4% of population

Though at a glance USA appears to be primarily "Christian" in its beliefs, reports show that few Americans actually claim to have a personal relationship with Jesus and only claim to have a "religion." So it's very important that you share your faith with other kids at school and in your community. For information on how to do that as an E-LIFE Kid, click here.

White Mountain Apache Reservation

According to one source, the population of the White Mountain Apache tribe consists of:

  • 55 percent under age 18
  • 72 percent under age 28

One AGUSM missionary explained that the majority of adults in the community of Whiteriver, Arizona, are unemployed because no work can be found. He added that ministry to the children, youth, and their parents is of vital importance. Because funds are few and supplies limited, missionaries and church leaders must rely on the support of Assemblies of God churches across the nation.

"Our church emphasizes outreach and missions and takes Native American children and youth to other portions of this reservation, to other reservations, and to annual missions trips to Mexico," said one church leader. "Missions giving is very important to our congregation."
